One of the biggest issues with commercials and announcements is how far you can go with the content. A big issue with commercials alone is that you can't lie--if your product does not do it you cannot lie about it, without some minor label saying this doesn't really happen. For announcements you cannot excite mass panic. There are a few cases when mass panic is allowed, such as 9/11. However, commercials during big events is considered unethical. The reasons for this is so you don't miss any big information. My question is this: when does ethics no longer play into view since the line is so small and it constantly waivers?
