Chapter 9: Corporate, Educational, and Children's Programs

I agree with what the book says about PowerPoint visuals -- "the use of charts and graphs . . . to teach the information is . . . especially appropriate." Sometimes, for educational purposes, using visual imagery is practically mandatory to get your point across. However, I can't stand it when people only put text on their PowerPoint slides... that's just unnecessary and lazy to me. ...Visuals yes! Words no.

I totally agree with you. One has to consider the nature of the information and the type of audience though.But in general, the speaker should know the content well enough to explain it and make his/her point across without a bunch of words.

Yeah, I kind of agree but I think that there should a balance between slides with key words from the text along with visual aids to go with it.
