Chapter 8: Music, Variety, and Comedy

I think music is essential in conveying emotions of a certain moment/scene, creating tension or relief, and even to help the listener connect with what is going on (possibly with the use of that "nostalgic" technique noted in the book). It's amazing how important music often is in media.

The book states that "the timing . . . has to be exact," and I definitely agree with this. Since music does have that deep impact on the viewers/listeners, it can dominate whatever is going on in a scene, making it something that needs to be carefully crafted and planned. It's very much like a secret weapon for media writers, helping them connect with their audience on a more personal level.

I totally agree. Music is used to enhance ads or videos in order to resonate with the audience. Nostalgia is an excellent technique used by many marketers nowadays.
