In regards to news writing, I know this chapter mainly focused on writing news for television, so I'm really sorry if I'm getting a bit off topic. BUT it made me start wondering about the state of newspapers these days. Are newspapers dying out? Will they soon be gone all together? Is there something people writing for print news could do differently, or will it always be dominated by "internet newswriting"?

Newspapers are dead and gone sadly. You can still see some papers floating around but they are barely surviving. Everything has gone digital nowadays. You can still see some aspects of newspaper articles, however, they are just formatted for online.

I think newspapers are dying out in the eyes of our generation and the new one. I remember going to a Fort Smith Newspaper Company last year, and the market researcher was very interesting on getting insight from us, college students, about what we would like or would not like to see in a newspaper because they felt they had less and less audience each time.
