As I read chapter 1, I found differerent interesting pieces of information. Some that I already know, but it is always good to keep it fresh in mind. Some others did capture my attention and made me question the concept of mass media. While it is true that we need to keep in my mind who our audience and which words are we going to use in order to get and hold their attention, how are we supposed to target a mass media audience? Does this imply that we have to target the masses? Is there still such thing as targeting the masses? People's mindset and lifestyle are so diverse that I do not think there is such thing as targeting the masses nowadays. People choose what they want to listen or watch; therefore, market segmenting is imperative. Maybe I am taking out of perspective the meaning of mass in this matter, but that is just my opinion.  Moreover, reading chapter 2, I realized how similar theater is with media writing or at least how many of the elements used they have in common. Music, lighting, and sound are big elements in both fields. As a matter of fact media writing is the equivalent to playwriting. Of course, the terminology and the mode of use changes a bit, but is always good to learn different things.

This is a huge question and I don't believe that there is a such thing as The masses because of the ability to change and search. You can no longer categorize a group of people based on one like or a few likes.
