It is interesting that I always heard the terms ''commercials'' and ''announcements'' and thought I knew what they meant. Reading chapter 4, redefined the concept of these words in my schema, for commercials refer to actual advertising to sell products and service3s for profit-making. Whereas, announcements refer to simply promotion of stations, events, or non profit organizations' activities. Later in the chapter, it is stated that the goal of commercials and announcements is persuasion through emotions, reason, or ethics. This poses an opportunity and a threat to media writers and advertisers since it offers the chance to use their creativity and it also represents a menace to their talent since there is so much competition that can outshine their skills. Moreover, out of all the approaches shown in chapter 4, dramatization is the one that caught my attention the most because it is the most complete since it consists of an expositin, conflict, rising action, climax, and somtimes resolution. This model encompasses all the steps listed earlier in the chapter in order to persuade the audience of buying a particular product or service.

I think it's funny that dramatization was the one that "caught your attention" when in the book it says this style is the one that really "gets the audience's attention and interest." ^_^ This style just really speaks the an audience, I think. (After all, it was the one that stood out the most to me, too! :P)
